Itinerary:

This short hike starts just off Riverside Road in Roswell. There are some moderate elevation changes, but this is not a strenuous hike and perfect for beginners.

The Vickery Creek section of the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area contains miles of interconnected hiking trails. Our plan is to hike three to six miles of these trails, based on the groups druthers. The hike will include stops at the old dam and new covered bridge on Big Creek. 

Please remember to bring $3 for the National Park Service parking fee, unless you have a Chattahoochee NRA annual pass.

    From I-285 East

    • Take exit 25, Roswell Road.
    • Left, travel 7 miles, cross the river to the intersection of Roswell Road and Riverside Road.
    • Right onto Riverside, cross Vickery Creek and make an immediate left for the unit.

    From I-285 West

    • Take exit 25, Roswell Road.
    • Right, travel 7 miles, cross the river to the intersection of Roswell Road and Riverside Road.
    • Right onto Riverside, cross Vickery Creek and make an immediate left for the unit.

    From GA 400 North

    • Take exit 6, Northridge Road.
    • Right onto Northridge and go to the Roswell Road intersection.
    • Right; travel 2 miles to the intersection of Roswell Road and Riverside Road.
    • Right onto Riverside, cross Vickery Creek and make an immediate left to the unit.

    From GA 400 South

    • Take exit 6, Northridge Road.
    • Left onto Northridge and go to the Roswell Road intersection.
    • Right; travel 2 miles to the intersection of Roswell Road and Riverside Road.
    • Right onto Riverside, cross Vickery Creek and make an immediate left to the unit.
