Itinerary:

Join me on the AT for this fun winter hike in the mountatins.  It's one of my favorite stretches of the AT in Georgia.

Starting at Woody Gap we'll follow the AT south for about 8 miles past Justice Creek to Coopers Gap for lunch.  After lunch we'll head back the way we came.  There's no particularly steep or long climbs along the route but we should still have good views south from Ramrock Mountain. Along the way we'll pass Gooch Gap and rock hop across Blackwell and Justice creeks (no need for water shoes).

This is a D5 hike so you'll need at least a few solid D4 hikes in your profile.  Total distance is about 16 miles with an elevation gain of about 2900 ft.  Speed will vary between 2.7 and 3.0 mph depending on how the group's doing. You should be comfortable hiking at a quick pace for 6 hours with a few short stops along the way.
