Itinerary:

Sunday morning on the Comet; doesn't get much better! Especially when it's sunny in early February and temps look to be ranging from 40-60°

Today we'll be starting at the Hiram Trailhead (near the cabbose) and head west to Coot's Lake Road (CLR). I got the route set for about 30 miles - to get the Brushy Mtn tunnel in today. We'll roll out about 15 miles and re-group once we reach CLR: go to the quikStop - that is just left up the road from the SCT. We can refill H2O and get snacks if needed, then we'll head back to Hiram.

It's not a road race, and it's not a beginners ride, it will be brisk and steady...avg looking to be 15 mph, so be ready to go! Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to gear up, air up and check in...once we're all together, I'll do some intros and we'll be on out way (right at 10 a.m.), please do not be late.

We all know it's early in the season and we're not looking for 25 mile per hour averages (yet), and we know everyone's fitness and abilities vary...so be prepared to ride solo if you have to, I will not leave anyone behind and will do rolling sweeps as we go. Here's an interactive map for your own peace of mind: Silver Comet Trail Map - Interactive  It's an out and back (OAB) on a single path, so it should not be too bad. The ride is listed as a D4, which is kinda pushing it, but the long, slow climb to the tunnel, the early season miles and the temps all play a factor...so it's a D4 - join me...you got this ;)
