Itinerary:

How it works:  You go on the waitlist starting on February 4th at 8pm and on the 6th at 8pm, I will put on the eight people, not in the order of the waitlist, but in the order of fewest hikes completed.  After that it is first come, first serve - with a total of 10 hikers.

You haven't been able to get on a D3?  And you want to see what a moderate pace means (generally speaking).  This is your opportunity, pending a review by the trip leaders.

OPTIONAL lunch at Marietta Meltaway afterwards.

The pace of the event will be moderate.  I will take a few short breaks, as needed.

We are STARTING IN THE BACK OF THE OVERFLOW PARKING LOT, then we walk to the Visitor Center (for a bio break) and then we will go over Big Kennesaw and Little Kennesaw, past Pidgeon Hill and will then take the Brumby Trail back to the Visitor Center and return to our cars.  This is an easy, undulating trail.  You must have a park pass in order to participate - this is a national park.  Passes are available:  Automated Fee Machine
Purchase your KEMO Day or Annual Pass at our Autmated Fee Machine, located at the overflow parking area off of Old Highway 41 during park hours. Only credit/debit card accepted, no cash.

Basic rules:

1. Don't signup unless you really, really want to come.

2. You cannot bring a guest, anyone participating must join the Club and signup.

3. Sorry, no pets on this event.

4. As a courtesy to participants we start on time.  Please arrive a few minutes early to get your pass and for introductions.

6. People with D2's are permitted on this hike, pending review by the trip leader.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

1) I-75 North to exit 267B Hwy 5 Canton Road Connector

2) If you are not heading west after getting off of the Interstate you are going the wrong way.  You should be heading towards US 41 and downtown Marietta after getting off of I-75 onto the Canton Road Connector and see Kennesaw Mountain on your right.

3) You will be tempted to take the first exit off of the Canton Road Connector which is US 41, but do not take it.  Proceed over US 41 on a bridge staying on the Canton Road Connector.

4) After crossing US 41 take a right at the first redlight which is Church Street Extension.

5) You should cross railroad tracks soon.

6) Take a left onto Old 41 at the second redlight.  If you get to US 41 again, you have missed the turn onto Old 41 so turn around.

7) Stay on Old US 41 until you pass in front of the mountain then go through the light and the next left (past the visitor's center is the overflow parking lot.

Meet in the back of the overflow lot.
