Itinerary:

Please join me for a private tour of the Chastain Horse Park.  It's one of the last two remaining urban barns in the United States. It is also home to nationally recognized therapeutic programs.

Please do not bring an umbrella into the horse barn area (in the event one is needed that day). The horses are afraid of them!

After the (approximate) one hour tour, we'll head over to Chastain Park's paved walking trail for a 3.3-mile hike.

Chastain Park is known for its beautiful residential neighborhood and you'll get to see some gorgeous homes on this hike. We'll also get views of the park's beautifully landscaped areas (flowers are blooming right now) a golf course, a baseball field, tennis center and a pool.

Please note: Our hiking path is relatively flat in some places, but there is some elevation (approximately 320 feet in elevation).

You must complete both parts of this event. If you can't complete both parts of this event (tour+hike) then please do not sign up. This event is designed for learning + exercise.

No dogs allowed on this event -- sorry!

We will meet in the RED parking lot at the corner of Elliott Galloway Way & Powers Ferry Rd NW.

Note: The Red Lot is the northernmost of the two Horse Park Parking lots.  It is up the hill from the one across from Jett Road.


In google maps, type:  Chastain red lot 

 

From south of Chastain Park, go north on Roswell Road to W Wieuca Road NW.

From north of Chastain Park, go south on Roswell Road to W Wieuca Road NW.

Turn onto West Wieuca Road and cross over Lake Forrest Road. This will take you through the park.

Continue west on West Wieuca Road to Powers Ferry Road.

Turn right on Powers Ferry and turn into parking lot on right immediately before Elliott Galloway Way.

Look for the small, wood covered bus stop at the North end of the parking lot.
