The trail starts near the parking lot and proceeds for about half a mile around the park until it crosses some railroad tracks, and then an old bridge. We will then walk on parts of the white red and blue trails to form a loop inside a pine forest, between two creeks. Along the way we will see the ruins of the old Decatur waterworks, which were abandoned in the 1940's. After crossing the railroad tracks again, we will return to the parking lot the same way we came.
Part of the trail has been recently paved.
