Itinerary:

Please join me in a tried and true classic AT hike heading both northbound and southbound. We will begin our hike at Woody Gap and climb up along the AT northbound trail until we find ourselves at a beautiful lookout spot, Preachers Rock. Lets get this climb out of the way while we have cool morning air and views. After oohing and aahing at the view, we will head back down to the cars (feel free to pick up extra stuff from your cars as we will have walked a 1.9 mile round trip).

We will now begin our saunter southbound on the AT to lovely Justus Creek which is about 6.3 miles from Woody gap and is always a favorite lunch spot. We will take a short break for lunch and meander back to Woody Gap the way we came.

I am still trying to recover from being out with injuries so this will not be a super fast hike at all. I am anticipating an average pace of about 2.5mph. Uphills will be slower and the few flat parts we will pick up some speed to keep the pace. If we keep that pace we may finish a tad early.
