Itinerary:

This is one of the most popular hikes in Georgia, and for good reason. It is a very moderate 2.5 mile hike to the falls. The trail parallels Dodd Creek, which forms numerous cascades and at least two waterfalls on the way. At 2.5 miles, we will reach Raven Cliffs Falls, which plummets over a 125 foot rock cliff. For the more adventurous, you can climb up to the top of the Falls, but watch your footing. We will eat lunch at the base of the falls and then hike home.

For those wanting even more adventure, we will head over to Helen following the hike for some tubing on the Chattahoochee. Be sure to bring water shoes and clothes/swimsuit to change into as well as $5 to pay the outfitter directly for your tube trip. After our float, we'll grab some brats and beverages in the town of Helen.

The pace of this hike will be slower than usual for a D3. Plan on taking it nice and easy with plenty of stops to enjoy the scenery and take pictures. If you're looking for a brisk fitness hike, this isn't the right hike for you.
