Itinerary:

The Pine Mountain to Coopers Furnace Hike is a well loved but challenging trail with two great views of the surrounding mountains and Lake Allatoona. Alice will be co-leading her third Potential Trip Leader hike with Trish.  We will head in a counter clockwise direction on the West Loop to the overlook at Pine Mountain, then  proceed to Cooper's Furnace where we will take a 15-20 minute rest stop for lunch or a snack. We will then head up toward the Lake Allatoona Dam overlook then head back to the parking lot.

Be sure to bring plenty of water - most of the hike is shady but we will have some direct sun.

We will meet in the parking lot of the Pine Mountain Trail at 0745 for an 0800 start. We will stay together and hike at a moderate pace of 2.5 miles/hour. The distance is about 8.5 miles total.
