Hello hikers!

Start out your Saturday on a healthy note! If you like being around water -- then this hike is for you!

Come check out Sandy Spring's newest trail called "Springway." A new and scenic section of it along Orkin Lake recently opened to the public. It has an impressive new boardwalk around the lake. We will also hike around Morgan Falls Overlook Park - which includes both paved trails and trails through wooded areas. This hike also includes scenic views of Bull Sluice Lake and the Chattahoochee River.

This will be a moderate paced hike with a combination of a few hills and flat trails. Trip leader Katherine will stop to take a few scenic photos of the water during the hike.

We are starting this hike, early, on Saturday to avoid the extreme heat of the afternoon hours.

We will meet in front of Murph's Surf Paddle Shack inside Morgan Falls Overlook Park at 200 Morgan Falls Road, Sandy Springs, GA 30350

After the hike, there is an option to meet for coffee/food at the Sandy Springs Diner, located at 8612 Roswell Rd, Sandy Springs, GA 30350. It is a ten minute drive from the trailhead.

How to Get There:

Event Directions:

From Roswell Road, turn onto Morgan Falls Road. There is a church at this intersection called "Elevate" that you can use as a landmark. From this intersection, drive about 1.3 miles until you arrive at Morgan Falls Overlook Park. Take an immediate right into the parking lot area and park here. We will meet in front of "Murph's Surf Paddle Shack" located next to the parking lot. Physical address: 200 Morgan Falls Rd, Sandy Springs, GA 30350.

P.S. - You will pass Steel Canyon Golf Course between Roswell Road and the parking lot to Morgan Falls Overlook Park. If you do not see a golf course on the left hand side, then you are not going the correct way.

Parking is free at the park!
