Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue.
This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

The Friday AT series has been taking a break since early May due to heat and the escapes of the Shenandoah and Smokys trips.  We still did plan some Friday hikes though including Pickens, Kennesaw, and Panther Creek.

For this date, we'll try the Avalanche Loop before we're gone again for the Maine trip.  I've not done this hike previously but, on AllTrails, the elevation gain is at least 400 feet and we'll take a 3mph pace to qualify as a D3.  "Challenges include limited signage, a few muddy spots, a tree down, the occasional root or rock, two creek crossings, and a fair number of bikers to be mindful.  There are not many views, just a long trail in nature"

We'll get the AT series rolling again after Maine with some nicer temperatures.
