Want more strength and confidence for your next outdoor adventure? Want to have an easier time climbing stairs, lifting and performing other daily physical activities? Then join us for a series of physical challenges geared specifically towards improving your minimum daily physical fitness.

AOC member Marcus Shapiro is a fitness trainer, adventure enthusiast and founder of Fit for Trips. Fit for Trips provides itinerary specific resistance and endurance programs and is dedicated to improving the physical fitness of adventure travelers worldwide.

Minimum Daily Movement fitness workout: Sequence thru the minimum amount of a movement required daily for the maintenance of good mobility and function. Brought to you by Fit for Trips Just like there are minimum daily vitamin recommendations, there are minimum daily movement suggestions. This class will guide you thru a sequence of movements that will lessen the restrictions you might have with pushing, pulling, squatting, lunging, etc. Climb stairs better; squat down to pick up items easier; increase energy while reducing the effort your muscles endure every time you move. Anyone can attend this workout.

Event Directions:

CHANGE OF LOCATION - Corner of McLendon and Candler Park Dr. NE. This is the southwest corner of the park and there is street parking or you can take Marta to the Edgewood-Candler Park station and walk 2 blocks to the park. Be there no later than 10:00 so we can sign the waivers and get started promptly at 10:15am. There is a class geared towards improving hiking and reaching your peaks previous to this class at 9:00am. Please feel free to sign up for both classes if you’re feeling particularly motivated.
