Itinerary:

We will head out bright and early and meet a couple of friends who will ropes and gear to help us get up stone walls in the wilderness. This climb is planned for Leda Wall in Soddy-Daisy, TN (outside Chattanooga), but is weather dependent.

Everyone will have to have their own shoes, harness, & belay device. You will need to know how to top-rope belay

Leda is a moderate challenge climbing area. Although there may be one or two lower level climbs to maximize your experience, I recommend that you are able to climb at a level that is approximately equivalent to Stone Summit 5.8 or Atlanta Rocks 5.7+. Climbing will be top-rope style.

Note:  This is NOT recommended as a first timers climb; this event is for people who know how to belay and have climbed at least a few times in the last 6 months.

Everyone will need to have their own shoes, harness and belay device.

If you have your own rope, and are willing to allow others to climb on it, please contact Dave.  We'd be glad to increase the size of the trip to include you and your rope.  An additional rope is the ONLY way this trip can expand its maximum group size. Those with their own rope and lead gear will find ample sport lead climbing opportunities at Leda.  Fun for you, fun for us!  :)

Dogs are permitted and will hang out with us at the bottom of the cliff. Make sure you bring them plenty of water.

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $88.80 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Notes:
This event is weather-dependent.  It's neither safe nor smart to climb during rain and storms so in the event of bad weather we will reschedule.  Be sure to check your email often for updates.
