Itinerary:

The Chamblee Rail Trail runs through the heart of Chamblee and is a scenic/fun urban hike along a paved path. It incorporates green spaces, vibrant public art installations and passes near homes, restaurants, shops and more. Chamblee's Rail Trail has spurred significant redevelopment in the surrounding area over the past few years ... and there is a plan for the trail to continue to grow in the years to come. Some parts of this path feel like the Atlanta Beltline, but it is not as crowded. This place is a true gem!

We'll start our hike in front of Chamblee's City Hall Building near the city's antique row area ... and then walk a short distance from there to the Rail Trail.

City Hall Address: 3518 Broad Street, Chamblee, GA 30341

This hike also includes walking through a small section of Keswick Park near the Rail Trail. Keswick Park is about 45 acres and includes a small trail through a wooded area, ball fields, and tennis/pickleball courts.

We will hike this five mile route at a moderate pace. Total elevation again is about 287 feet and includes a few short hills.

The Atlanta Outdoor Club does not often hike in this part of metro-Atlanta, so it will be a nice change of pace for the group!

After the hike, there is an option to meet for coffee/breakfast at Sidecar Coffee located inside Chamblee Tap & Market.  Address: 3509 Broad St Suite 400, Chamblee, GA 30341
