Itinerary:

It is time to enjoy another one of my favorite trails along the Chattahoochee River: “Island Ford.” While this trail is not a mountain trail, it features a couple of slopes, rocky terrain, and narrow trails that make it a fun in-town hike.

Additionally, this section of the trail offers spectacular views of the Chattahoochee River, as well as nature and wildlife. We will start at the first parking lot on the left and begin hiking on the main trail, making our way to the river and enjoying some other nice views of nature along the way. We will move at a steady pace so we can finish our hike by 9:30.

I look forward to hiking with everyone on Sunday Morning at 8 am!

How to Get There:

Event Directions:

From northbound US 19 and GA 400
- Take exit #6 (Northridge Road).
- Coming off the exit, stay in the right lane, cross over GA 400, and turn right onto Dunwoody Place.
- Go 0.5 miles to Roberts Drive.
- Turn right and proceed 0.7 miles to the park entrance on your right.

From southbound US 19 and GA 400
- Take exit #6 (Northridge Road)
- Continue straight ahead at the traffic light onto Dunwoody Place.
- Go 0.5 miles to Roberts Drive.
- Turn right and proceed 0.7 miles to the park entrance on your right.

Meet in the first parking lot on the left - - ($5 to park)

This area requires a $5 (cash) parking pass if you don't already own an annual pass. No change is available. We will start the hike promptly at 8:00 am! Arrive 5 minutes early to purchase a pass and check in.
