This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Come join us on the very first AOC hike to Frady Branch Trail! This trail system is a collection of trails in the Lake Russell Wildlife management area conveniently between Cornelia and Toccoa, GA. This is a 10.1 mile loop has many historical points of interest including two cemeteries which are quite old. There are beautiful wildflowers, small waterfalls and a few creek crossings. There is one creek crossing which will get your feet wet (unless of course, you bring along water shoes).

There are some unmarked side trails leading to points of interest, including Big Leatherwood Falls and Roman's Den. Total televation gain is about 1140 feet. We will stop at about the six mile point to have a short lunch. So bring your curious selves, your water, lunch and snack and a pair of water shoes and we will traverse the 10.1 miles together and help us put a new one in the AOC books!
