Itinerary:

Let's meet at Lake Winfield Scott for a loop hike, we will take Jarrard Gap Trail for a mile or so, then get on the Appalachian Trail for 3 miles up to Blood Mountain.

Interesting fact: Blood Mountain is the highest peak on the Georgia section of the Appalachian Trail with an elevation of 4,458ft.

We will take our time going up as the elevation gain is about 1700ft, I would estimate our pace to be about 2.5mph going up with 2 quick hydration stops, then we will enjoy a lunch/snack break on the rocks up top, hopefully the weather cooperates and we get to have a wonderful view.

After lunch, we will hike down back on the AT for about a mile, get on Slaughter Creek Trail for another 3 miles back to our cars, I would estimate the pace going down around 2.8mph with 2-3 hydration stops depending on how hot it gets.
