Kennesaw Mountain is calling. We'll do the 6.2 miles from the Visitor Center to Burnt Hickory and back.

So, if you are wanting to join this hike, you should have recent D3 experience. If you are wanting to qualify for more difficult hikes (D4 and above), this is the hike for you. You probably don't want to sign-up if you are a seasoned D4 or above hiker.

We will be moving most of the time. I don't anticipate any breaks for water. We may take a break for de-layering, if needed. Definitely, take a break at Burnt Hickory, but it will be short.

With the government shutdown, the visitor center will be closed as well as the visitor center parking lot. Plan on parking at the overflow lot, which is your first left after the light to turn to the visitor center. The overflow lot is a 10 minute walk from the visitor center.

We'll meet at the Visitor Center by 7:50 am. You should have already paid for parking(parking fee will not apply with the government shutdown),got your gear together,and used the bathroom,if needed,prior to 7:50 am. We'll start promptly at 8:00 am.

Restrooms will not be available with the government shutdown. Water fill stations are close to the Visitor Center and across the street at Burnt Hickory
