Itinerary:

Nestled within Emory University’s scenic North Decatur campus, Lullwater Preserve is one of Atlanta’s most peaceful urban escapes.

The preserve spans 154 acres of wooded trails, open meadows, and lakeside paths, offering a calm natural retreat just minutes from downtown Atlanta.

The main Lullwater Trail loops around a beautiful lake formed by South Fork Peachtree Creek and features a mix of paved and natural surfaces,

making it accessible for most hikers and casual walkers.

We'll enjoy a good mix of the many trails located in the park to get to the 4.5 mile mark.

We'll take the Hill Loop Trail leading down to and around Candler Lake, then we'll cross over onto The President's Loop Trail

crossing by the Lullwater House eventually leading us down to the water on the South Fork Peachtree Creek Trail all the way over to Hahn Woods.

From there, we'll backtrack our way to the swinging bridge and cross over onto the other side of the Peachtree Creek trail.

We'll do this loop and then cross back over the swinging bridge and over to the Candler Lake Trail and eventually

finish up the hike back at our starting location.

We’ll move at a moderate pace averaging around 3.2 mph.

Ample FREE parking is avaiilable in the lot in front of the school.

Look for the very clear sign on the right called Emory "The Clifton School", Starvine Way, 1900.

At 8:15 am, we'll all meet for introductions at the stone gate and two picnic tables located just before the 'secured' gate leading into Emory University.

PLEASE NOTE
There are NO public restrooms available at the parking lot or on the trails.
