Itinerary:

We will do this hike in a clockwise direction which is our usual path. We will make all of the same stops along the trail expect they will be done in a different order than what is 'typical' - the overlook at the top of the mountain (first), then Cooper's Furnace, climb is already done, so we make our way out.

This trail is rugged and rocky in in many spots, with an elevation gain of 1800+ feet. Hikers must have, at minimum, recent multiple D3 hiking experience with the club to attend this hike. If you are not on the event, you either don't qualify or the event is full.

Our pace will be approximately 2.6 mph. This is a moderately paced hike!

Let's have a heavy snack/lunch at the overlook. A 15 minute break.

Event Directions:

Take I-75 north to exit 288 (Cartersville - Main Street). Turn right to the end of Main Street, then right on Komatsu Drive. Turn left into the parking lot at the "Main Street Parking" sign before the entrance to the Komatsu plant.
