Itinerary:

We will park near the entrance to the park where the Gahuti Trail crosses the park road.

We head north on the Gahuti for about a mile where we will reach the intersection with Trail #301.

A right turn on 301 will take us along Mill Creek.

After a mile on 301, we reverse course and head back to the Gahuti.

At about the 5 mile mark we will hit the Cool Springs Overlook

After the overlook we will head over to the West Overlook trail which will take us to the West Overlook

Back on the Gahuti we go until we reach about the 9 mile mark

A quick left turn on the Big Rock Trail will get us to the Lake Trail which leads us back to the Gahuti and our cars. Somewhere along the way we will stop for lunch and high hilarity.

With 3000 feet of gain, this hike is mid-range in the D5 spectrum and is only appropriate to experienced D5 hikers. Under qualified adventurers may be move to the waitlist.

Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $50.40 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
