Itinerary:

We're moving this week's hike to Vickery Creek since Island Ford is closed. We'll do our best to end our hike on time, but with the different trails, that might be a little challenging. We'll start the hike at Riverside Park on Riverside Road. This starting point offers lots of free parking spaces plus bathrooms!

We'll cross Riverside Road and hike up a neighborhood hill into Vickery Creek, a park that offers a variety of trails and routes, beautiful views of the water along the creeks and at the dam, and occasional glimpses of wildlife. We'll keep a pretty fast pace with just a couple of pauses for water along the way.

The trails at Vickery Creek are not easy, so at this faster pace, this is not a hike for beginning hikers or folks who struggle with elevation or rough terrain. No new folks without previous AOC record on this hike, please!

Hiking poles are recommended, especially after recent rains!

Please plan to arrive by 9:50 am to use the bathroom, do intros, and take a group photo. . We start on time, so if you're late, we'll be gone.

PLEASE NOTE WE ARE STARTING AT RIVERSIDE PARK! There's plenty of free parking here and bathrooms are available! We'll cross the street and enter the Vickery Creek CRNRA from here.

RIVERSIDE PARK

575 Riverside Road

Roswell, GA 30075

From Northbound U.S. 19/Ga. 400
Take exit 6 for Northridge Road
Stay RIGHT onto Northridge Road crossing bridge
Take first RIGHT onto Dunwoody Place, go 1.3 miles
Turn RIGHT at Ga. 9 (Roswell Road), go 0.6 miles
Cross river turn RIGHT onto Riverside Road, cross the bridge and the park is on the right.

From Southbound U.S. 19/Ga. 400
Take exit 7 for Ga. 140 (Holcomb Bridge Road)
Turn RIGHT onto Ga. 140 East (Holcomb Bridge Road), go 0.2 mile
Turn LEFT at Dogwood Road, go 1.0 miles
Continue STRAIGHT on Riverside Road, go 1.0 mile
Turn LEFT at park entrance - - just before crossing the bridge at Atlanta Road.
