Itinerary:

Join me for a hike at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. We will start at the Visitor Center, take the Brumby trail around the mountain to Pigeon Hill and then return over Little Kennesaw and Big Kennesaw. We will stay together as a group and hike a little less than 6 miles at an average pace of 25 mins/mile (slower going uphill but faster on the flat/downhill sections).

This should be a good hike for folks with solid D2 experience looking to get into harder hikes. It is a D3 given the 1000 feet elevation gain but the distance and pace are well within the D2 range.

There are restrooms at the Visitor Center and parking requires a National Parks pass ($5 daily pass or $40 annual pass or America the Beautiful pass). The main parking lot is often busy, so budget addtional time if it is full to walk from the overflow lot 0.5 miles away on Old 41 Highway.

Please arrive 10 mins early for socializing/introductions so that we can start on time.
