Itinerary:
Moderate to Strenuous 7 Mile Hike

Once we travel to the trailhead, we will walk some 3/10’s of a mile to the tourist overlooks of the 441’ Upper Whitewater Falls; and after pictures we will take the long winding downhill on the Foothills Trail into the Whitewater Gorge and a wildflower display from heaven. The wildflowers on display this time of year are many, various and spectacular, all along the trail-cameras suggested for any picture buffs. Once down in the gorge, and cross the Whitewater River on the big Iron Bridge, we will all walk the valley trail up and down many wooden steps on our way to Lower Whitewater Falls, another 400+’ waterfall, and rest on the viewing deck there, before returning.

Anyone wishing to dine afterwards is cordially invited to share a special - two days after Bruce’s birthday - Italian dinner at Paisano’s restaurant in Seneca, SC, on the way back.

Anyone that likes pretty pictures and taking them there will be many good subjects here, waterfalls and wildflowers.

This hike will be shared with the GATC (Georgia Appalachian Trail Club), with similar numbers. If less than eight sign up from the GATC; please keep in mind, I will take extra from AOC from waiting list after trip fills, so e-mail me if trip is full. Last time I took two extra people from AOC; and may well again, from first on the waiting list.
