Itinerary:

 

GAME PLAN 

This is a hiker’s trip featuring 2 x D6 events, both will start from Dicks Creek Gap. 

First day, we’ll head north, and the next day, we’ll venture south.

 

Thursday Apr 30th Travel Day

-       We will leave after work from Indian Trail Park and Ride.

-       If 4-5 people interested in leaving from Windward, we can split the carpool.

-      Pack your dinner or grab something on the way, just incase it's too late to go out.

 

Friday May 1st D6

-       Prompt start 8:30am

-       AllTrails Dicks Creek Gap to Bly Gap Camp

-       Trailhead: Dicks creek Gap Parking

-       This hike is quite a trek, so dinner will be a homemade meal prepared by your “Self-proclaimed” Chef de Trail! 

 

Saturday May 2nd D6

-       Prompt 8:30am start, again.

-       AllTrails Dick's Creek Gap to Round Top

-       Trailhead: Dicks creek Gap Parking

-       Dinner in Downtown Hiawassee

 

Sunday May 3rd “Up In The Air”

-       Prompt 10am departure from accommodations.

-       If the weather is warm enough, we’ll go for a swim hike.

-       If it’s too chilly, we’ll pick a scenic D3 to stretch our legs.

-       We will stop at Jaemor Farms on our way back.

  

PACE

While some would still consider it fast-ish”, professional hikers would say it’s a moderate pace.

- Rain Gear, Trail Towel            

- Sun Protection, Layers

- Extra Hiking Shoes (potential mud)

- Bug Spray (maybe)

- 3 breakfasts and 2 Lunch meals

- Poison Ivy Wipes (if it's your thing)

- Snacks & Your Best Behavior

Notes:
Important information for paid events in which payment is managed through the AOC:

     - Payment must be received by the payment due date and prior to participation in the event.

     - Some paid events require a minimum number of registered participants. If that number is not met, the event will be canceled and refunds will be issued to those who have already paid.

     - Third-party vendors often require damage deposits. Each registrant agrees to be liable for and required to reimburse the Atlanta Outdoor Club for any withheld deposits due to the actions of or damages caused by that registrant.

     - No partial payments. All registrants must pay the posted Member Cost regardless of any agreement you may have with any party involved in the event.

     - Read the event description carefully for additional information, and contact the trip leader(s) with any questions.

Cost does not include the $12 non-refundable AOC Fee.

Refund is possible if we have a suitable replacement.

 

Lodging cost is shared equally regardless of sleeping arrangements.
