Itinerary:

Let's hike ALL the Trails at Red Top!  These trails are non-technical, usually wide enough for conversation, covered with pinestraw and are rolling. They're perfect for training for long hikes that don't have tons of elevation.

The plan: We will meet at the visitor center for intruductions and head toward the Trading Post on the Sweetgum Trail (3.5 miles) and take the Osprey Loop (0.75miles) along the way. After the Trading Post we"ll cross the road and take the Campground Trail (0.25 miles) to light Blue blazes (0.25 miles) to the dark Blue blazes, Iron Hill Loop (3.9 miles). After the Iron Hill loop we'll retrace the light Blue Blazes back to the Traiding Post and start the Homestead trail (5.5 miles), including it's loop.  On the way back to the Visitor center we'll take the White Tail trail (1 mile) out and back then go behind the visitor center for the Lakeside trail (0.75 miles).

Repeating trails will be minimized in order to keep a continuous flow and we will avoid going over 15 miles.

This hike will be a truly moderate pace and we will take a couple of short snack breaks. Plan to stay together as a group.

You'll need a Georgia State Parking pass, so if you don't have one carpool or buy a day pass.

Bathrooms are located at the Visitor center, Trading post (we'll pass twice) and port-a-johns in the Iron Hill parking area.
