Itinerary:
We will meet at the carpool and head to the outfitter to saddle up for our 10am horseback ride through the Chattahoochee National Forest where we will ride up to 2100 ft. to a beautiful overlook of Batesville and beyond. On a clear day you can see into North Carolina. The return trip is a gradual decent back to the stable through wooded trails.  With the fallen leaves the views should be spectacular.  We will ride for two hours and our guides will take us through varied terrain from single horse width trails to wide old logging roads.

This ride more than a head to tail walk, we will trot and we will canter - HOLD ON.  No horseback riding experience is necessary, just a need for speed!  The outfitter will go over a few basics before we depart - just be prepared to hold on when we trot and canter.

If you have a fear of horses this trip isn't for you, trotting and cantering (horse is running full speed) can be intimidating.  This isn't the trip to try horseback riding to see if you like it, I will do a different trip for intro to horseback riding.

Weight limit for the horses is 250lbs.

After our ride we will drive to Helen for lunch.  After lunch in Helen, on the way home we will stop at Dukes Creek Falls to hike the 1 mile out and back trail (2 miles total) down to the double water falls (Dukes creek and Davis creek).  The trail is the roadbed of the Byrd-Matthews Lumber Company logging railroad, operated circa 1914–15, and is an easy hike.

We should be back at the carpool around 5:30pm.

This event will take place rain or shine, only thunder and lightening will prevent us from riding, please be prepared with rain gear and/or a change of clothes.

Required Items to Bring:
Money for lunch in Helen
Money for car pool

Rain Gear/Change of clothes
