Itinerary:

It might feel a bit early to start registering for a day hike in May, but if you’re thinking of joining the two weekend hikes, it’s a good idea to book your place early for the accommodations.

I’ll be staying pretty close to the trailhead, and I’d be happy to share my accommodation plans if you’re interested in both hikes.

Black Rock Lake, GA

How about we give this a fresh shot? Let’s kick things off at the lake this time.

We’ll start with a figure-eight, heading down Edmonds Trail to Tennessee Rock Trail, and then we’ll make our way back to the lake for lunch. That’s about 8 miles.

For the second part, we’ll do a 5-mile loop to Lookoff Mountain Overlook.

12 miles

2900 ft elevation gain

Prompt start 9am

AllTrails Black Rock Lake, GA

Trailhead: Black Rock Lake Parking

PACE

While some would still consider it fast-ish”, professional hikers would say it’s a moderate pace.

CARPOOL

I will try to help and match people to ride together if they are interested in joining one or both hikes, but there is no official carpool as I will not be able to attend.
