Itinerary:

Tired of the traditional tent pioneer camping?

Looking for something different and unique but easy on your wallet?

Do you feel like life is...nevermind.

Well, I have got just what you want...
Nestled in the north Georgia mountains just two miles from the Alpine village of Helen, Unicoi is one of Georgias most beloved state parks. The park is 1000+ acres of gorgeous forest with a pristine lake and beach. There is numerous hiking and mountain biking trails in the area and one of the regions most impressive waterfalls, Anna Ruby Falls.

We will be camping in the Squirrels Nest area, which is a village of primitive camping structures (aka: nests) in the trees. The nests themselves are roofed, but open on 3 sides. You will be sharing a nest with as many as four of your closest friends (no snoring please!). Sorry, NO tents are allowed in the nests.

Grills, picnic tables and a fire ring are all shared within the village. Parking is about 100 yds from the village so plan appropriately. A comfort station is a short walk from the village for bathrooms and hot water showers.

The itinerary is simple - Arrive Friday night, setup, cook dinner, relax and enjoy ourselves; Saturday - do a nearby hike, a stop in Helen for tourist activities and a German beer, spend the evening relaxing in camp and Sunday - break camp and go home!
