Itinerary:

This event is dedicated to the late Charlie Cottingham, as he led this type of social event for the Atlanta Outdoor Club during his incredible life.

Details: The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra plans to perform a free concert at Piedmont Park on Sunday, April 19, at 6:00pm in the Oak Hill section of the park (near 10th street).  We, and all others who love the great outdoors and great music, will watch this memorable experience on the huge grassy hillside that surrounds the stage at the park.

EVENT DETAILS:   Let's all gather no later than  5:30PM on the sidewalk at the corner of Elmwood Drive and Monroe Drive, 2 blocks east of the Park.  ( See Directions & GPS info below and please be on time, allowing for traffic. In the past we've always found plenty of safe free street-side parallel parking here along  Elmwood within a block or two of Monroe.  After brief introductions it will take us only about 10 minutes to walk together into the park. During the entire outing feel free to leave at any time from the group if you'd like.

According to the Atlanta Symphony OrchestraFinan Jones conducts the evening's program, featuring a selection of orchestral favorites specially selected to highlight our nation's 250th anniversary. Program selections will include works by such beloved American composers as John Williams, Leonard Bernstein and Florence Price, plus masterworks by Dvořák and Mozart.
