SECOND Cinco De Mayo- Powers Island

We will meet at the Powers Island Parking which is the Parking Lot across the river from Interstate North/Cochran Shoals.  This is the East side of the river in Sandy Springs.  We will meet near the restrooms near the boat ramp.  We will hike first on Powers Island and then hike the path near the back of the parking lot avoiding the steep hill.  These paths are rarely hiked and may be overgrown and buggy.  Also, they are prone to flooding because they are so close to the river.  But dont be scared away.  They are beautiful.  There are restrooms  

THIS IS POWERS iSLAND PARKING ACROSS THE RIVER FROM COCHRAN SHOAS/INTERSTATE N.

From 285 West, take exit 22 for New Northside Drive/Powers Ferry exit.    Use the two right lanes to turn right onto New Northside Drive.  Drive for about a mile (.9 mile) and turn right into Riveredge Lane NW.  If you cross the river you have gone too far.  The address is 5450 Interstate North Pkwy, Sandy Springs 30328.  There should be a sign that says Powers isoand.  

 From 285 East  Use the second from the right lane to take exit 22 for Northside Drive toward New Northside Drive, Powers Ferry Rd,  Use left lane to turn slightly left to New Northside Dr.  Turn Left onto New Northside Drive.  Turn right onto Riveredge Ln NW before you cross the river,  The address is 5450 Interstate north Pkwy Sandy Springs 30328.  There should be a sign that says Powers Island
