Itinerary:

Please join me to hike to Brasstown Bald via the Wagon Train Trail. Starting from Young Harris College, we will hike to Georgia's highest peak, 4,784 ft. covering approximately 14 miles and 3,000 ft of elevation gain.  The Wagon Train Trail is an abandoned road and is believed to be the favorite hiking trail of the former Georgia Governor Zell Miller, born in Young Harris.

The Wagon Train Trail starts by Young Harris College, it is 6 miles to the Visitors Center,  then we will push forward on a .6 mile paved path to the summit . We will climb to the top of the observation deck and enjoy the 360 degree view of 4 States, GA, SC, NC and TN. After taking in the views and a 20-30 minute lunch break, we will retrace our steps back to our cars.

Plan on hiking at moderate pace between 2.5-3.0 mph. You should have recent D4/D5 hikes with the club;if not, you will be placed on the wait list. We will take several breaks along the way and we will hike together as a group. There are no restrooms at the trailhead but we will have restrooms at Brasstown Bald.
