| Itinerary: | |||||||
The new bridge has been completed on Kolb’s Farm East Trail. Before the ribbon cutting ceremony in late June several things need to be completed. The four things that need done are. First, the road / trail needs repaired with GAB, the stuff we used on the horse steps. Second, the large bridge was removed by the contractor. We need to remove the small bridge. And third, we need to reinforce the banks on both sides of the bridge with riprap to prevent erosion around the foundation of the bridge. Riprap is the large irregular stones you see around some bridges. We will also added fencing to both sides of John Ward Creek.
VOLUNTEER!! YOUR PARK NEEDS YOU!! If we have more than 6 sign up, I have the authority to increase this to all that sign up. There will be no waiting list for this event.
We will meet at the parking lot at the end of Cheatham Hill Drive near the Illinois Monument and park in the field next to the parking lot.

| How to Get There: | |||||||
| Event Directions: | This is an approximate address: 1861 Dallas Hwy, Marietta, GA 30064 From Marietta: Take Whitlock Ave. west past Burnt Hickory. Stay on this road all the way. The name of the road (120) changes to Dallas Hwy. Pass New Haven Drive & Carriage Oaks. You'll soon see a sign that you're entering the Kennesaw Memorial Park (on right). Pass Dallas Circle (on left) and be ready to turn Left at Cheatham Hill Drive. The parking lot is about 1/4 mile down this road. From Barret Parkway: Turn east onto Dallas Highway (120). You will cross Noses Creek, Mt. Calvary Baptist Church (on left), and John Ward Road (on right). You will cross Hardage Road (left) which is also Old John Ward Road (right). Be ready to turn right onto Cheatham Hill Drive. The parking lot is about 1/4 mile down the road. PARKING PASSES: Parking passes will be issued to volunteers at the time they arrive. Someone will direct you as to where to park. The present plan has volunteers parking in the field next to the parking lot. This may change depending on the weather occuring in the days before the event. | ||||||
