North Georgia has some of the best road bike routes. This is the first of a series I'm planning. Some of them will be easy, like this one, others a bit tougher.

This is a easy 22 mile ride that starts and ends in downtown Ellijay. The route is relatively flat with one short steep climb up to Roundtop. After we pass some old buildings south of town, we will peddle through some farm country.

The participants will determine the pace. We will stay together as a group and complete the route together. The primary purpose of the trip is to enjoy the ride. I am not planning any rest stops, so bring what need to complete the trip without stopping.

This is a road bike trip. No mountain bikes please.

We'll eat lunch in Ellijay after the ride. Bring a change of clothes.

1. Turn right out of the Park & Ride toward George Busbee Pkwy NW 0.1 mi
2. Turn left at George Busbee Pkwy NW 0.5 mi
3. Turn right at Chastain Rd NW 0.5 mi
4. Turn left to merge onto GA-5 N/I-575 N 24.4 mi
5. Continue onto GA-515 E/State Route 515 28.3 mi
6. Turn left at 1st Ave 0.1 mi
7. Turn left at River St 0.9 mi
8. At the traffic circle, take the 3rd exit onto Broad St
