Please join me to hike my favorite D4 event, Pinnacle Knob from the Bartram Trail in Clayton GA. Thanks to Greg Pharo for the use of the photo.

We begin our adventure at Warwoman Dell recreation area, parking is free but limited, so I am encouraging you consider joining the carpool. We start on the Bartram Trail and will see two waterfalls, Becky Branch Falls in the beginning and Martin Creek Falls at the 2 mile mark. The trail is loaded with tropical looking rhododendrons and the ascent is moderate. You will experience great views at the knob where we will enjoy our lunch on the rock outcroping. After lunch, we will retrace our steps on the gradual downhill, returning to Warwoman Dell.

Recent D4 experience with the AOC is required in order to participate. You must have the ability to keep a moderate pace (2.5-3.0 mph) while hiking uphill. Due to summer season, the pace may be a little slower than usual.

For those who are not carpooling: we will meet at Warwoman Dell at 9:20 am. Take US 441 north to Clayton, then turn right (eastbound) onto Warwoman Road. Proceed three miles; Warwoman Dell is on the right side.
