Itinerary:
Join us for an evening hike up historic Currahee Mountain!

Currahee (“stands alone” in Cherokee) rises above Toccoa and is one of Northeast Georgia’s most recognizable landmarks. The mountain served as the training ground for the WWII paratroopers of the 506th Regiment, famously portrayed in Band of Brothers.

We’ll hike 6 miles round trip, gaining approximately 1,040 feet of elevation. Most of the climb follows the old paved and gravel access road, making footing straightforward even though the ascent is steady. We’ll maintain a brisk pace of around 3 mph, so participants should be comfortable with continuous uphill hiking.

Our reward will be sweeping views across the North Georgia mountains and foothills as the evening light settles over the landscape. We’ll spend a little time at the summit to enjoy the scenery before heading back down.
