This is not our usual local Monday morning hike, but so worth it. Our regular Monday morning members will hopefully consider a bit of a drive to venture into a harder hike to see this beautiful trail with a magnificent overlook view at the top. This is NOT a hike for beginners or for folks who don't have much hiking experience. Although the distance is less than 5 miles, the elevation gain for the hike is about 1,300 feet. Please don't register if you don't have a record of several hard D2 hikes. The Swheat reward at the end makes this event extra special, so don't miss it! We'll do both the east and west trails covering approximately 4.5-miles, with a jaunt up to the spectacular summit overlook. The pace will be moderate and steady but we'll slow down a bit on the steeper ascents. After the hike, folks will have the option to enjoy lunch at SWheat Market Deli down Main Street in downtown Cartersville (see address below). It gets a 4.6 star rating on Google with this review: Swheat Market is wonderful. Fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. Burgers, Cuban sandwich, salads, soups all great. The sides are also excellent. Dogs are permitted on this hike but please keep in mind that you must leave your dog in the car if you join us for lunch.
