Itinerary:

Join us for a long, challenging and invigorating autumn hike to the top of Springer Mountain via the AT approach Trail. Springer Mountain stands at approximately 3800 feet and is the Southern Terminus of the AT!!

We will start at the Amicalola Falls Lodge and follow the AT approach trail to the summit of Springer Mountain. If weather permits we will have lunch beside the Southern Terminus marker.  If the weather is not conducive to an outdoor lunch, Plan B will be to stop at the Hike Inn on our return.

There is a $10 parking fee to be paid at the gate or in the gift shop when you arrive at the park.

This hike requires recent D5 hike experience with the club or recommendation of an AOC Trip Leader.  A recommendation must be based on recent hiking experience that is similar to this hike. Previous experience can either be with the AOC or on external trails known to this hike's leaders. If your previous experience with the club is limited or non-existent you should register as early as possible to allow adequate time for vetting. We will put you on the waitlist until the vetting process is complete.
