I’ve learned a lot about the AT from hiking with Gary, so I decided to combine the highlights of two of his hikes into one!

We’ll start our adventure at Hogpen Gap, heading south/west on the AT to Cowrock, then make our way back to head north to Sheep Rock Top.

The first 4 miles to Cowrock and back are the most challenging part of the hike, with nearly 1500 feet of elevation gain. After that, we had a few rolling hills to Sheep Rock Top.

Expect around 3000ft elevation gain, spread out on many rolling hills.
