Itinerary:

Please join me to work off some of that over-indulgence to hike in the North Georgia mountains from Lake Winfield Scott to Dockery Lake.  We will ascend the Jarrard Gap Trail to the intersection of the Appalachian Trail. We will head southbound on the AT until we reach the intersection of the Dockery Lake Trail.

We will descend on the Dockery Lake Trail and along Pigeon Roost Creek. We will take our lunch break at Dockery Lake before retracing our steps back to Lake Winfield Scott.

The total distance is approximately 15 miles with 3,000 feet elevation gain. We'll hike at a moderate pace around 2.5mph. We will hike as a group and stop at all intersections to ensure we all stay together. Thanks to Greg Pharo for use of his AllTrails map.

You should have recent D5 or higher hiking experience or equivalent. If you do not, I will be contacting you to determine whether this event is right for you.
