Itinerary:
Stoneplace Trail follows the upland ridges of Tallulah Gorge.  After hiking approximately 4.75 miles, we will enjoy a lunch break at Tugaloo Lake. We will then partly re-trace the Stoneplace Trail, but pick up the High Bluff Trail mini-loop on the way back (2 miles). Combined, these two trails total approximately 11 miles.   After the main hike, we will walk down the North Rim Trail (less than a mile) to view scenic Tallulah Gorge from numerous overlooks.

The Stoneplace Trail has approximately 800 feet of elevation change over its 4.75 miles. It is mostly downhill on the way out, so uphill on the way back. The High Bluff Trail only has about 150 feet of elevation change.

The trail is wide and not too strenuous.  Therefore, we will hike at a pretty good pace, making this a D4 rather than a D3.

Note: This is technically an "Explorer" trip because the trip leaders have not hiked this trail before.  However, the trail is well traveled and purportedly well marked.  We will also have a good map.

We may stop for a bite to eat on the way home, if the group is so inclined.
