Itinerary:
Island Ford is part of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and is located just north of Sandy Springs. On this hike we will follow the blue trail for the most part, which is a "balloon" loop of about 3 miles. There are some climbs but nothing too difficult. The first part of the trail runs right beside the Chattahoochee river. We then turn left and follow Beech creek for a short time. After going up and over a hill the trail runs along side Summerbrook creek until we reconnect with the trail beside the Chattahoochee and retrace our steps back to the parking lot. There are very pleasant views of the Chattahoochee river and both creeks along the way. Be prepared for a wet and muddy trail.

Dog owners please carefully read the "notes" section below.

According to park rules you must clean up after your dog and you must have your dog on a leash at all times. Please do not use a telescoping leash because they tangle other hikers
