Itinerary:
Do you like to read those bronze historical markers? Do you want to know the history behind a settlement, the geological make-up of a rock formation, trail or park? I'm one of those folks that likes to stop and read the markers and expand my knowledge.

Our lives are very structured and I think most people look forward to vacation and retirement because they have nothing required of their time. This trip will get you out of your pre-arranged schedule. If this sounds like you, then join me for this trip.

The plan:
1:00pm Meet at carpool
1:30 Mystery location
3:00 Snack
Head to park
3:30 Easy hike 2-3 miles
4:30 same park, tough hike 2 miles - approaching sunset

I will offer the following on the mystery activity:
-both locations are within a combined 45 min round trip drive of the Chastain Park and Ride. Convenient!
-no, it is not Red Top Mountain nor Kennesaw National Battlefield
-please don't call or email me, I won't divulge the mystery activity

You won't know where we are heading until we meet at the carpool (which is really just a place for all of us to gather), at which time I'll provide directions.  Carpool is optional.
We'll meet at the P&R and depart for the mystery location, which is located indoors. We'll spend about one hour, maybe a tad longer in this location. You can grab a snack if you wish. We'll finish at another location where we'll be able to hike before calling it a day.

Hiking portion:
Several trails exists in this park. All of these trails are short, less than three miles. Due to the difficulty ranking, I'm posting this as easy. HOWEVER, one trail is a solid D3, maybe D4 and I plan to hike it just before sunset. The hard trial is optional. You'll need a light of some sort (head lamp or flashlight) to navigate the trail as the sun sets at slightly after 6 pm.

The weather calls for a 20% chance of rain. Either way, this event is a GO; however, I may switch around the order based on the forecast and/or cancel the hike portion.

You need about $12 for admission to the mystery activity, payable at the event.
