Amicalola Falls Hike

Itinerary:
This is a fitness hike for intermediate to advanced hikers. The hike is approximately 10 miles round trip with an above average hiking speed. We will start the hike from the top of the waterfall. We will hike the AT Approach trail for 4 miles. We will turn onto the Len Foote trail and hike the 1 mile to the Len Foote Hike Inn. We will stop for a break and to have lunch/snack at the Inn. The Inn will sometimess have some bread, dessert or fruit left over from dinner the night before that you can take in exchange for tips for the Inn employees but this is not a guarentee. You will be able to refill your water at the Hike Inn. We will continue down the Len Foote trail for the 5 mile hike back to our cars. 

We should be back in Atlanta by mid to late afternoon.

Clothing appropriate for weather conditions

  • Turn left at George Busbee Pkwy NW 0.5 mi
  • Turn right at Chastain Rd 0.5 mi
  • Turn left to merge onto GA-5 N/I-575 N 24.4 mi
  • Continue onto GA-5 N/GA-515 E 10.5 mi
  • Turn right at W Church St 1.8 mi
  • Turn left at Burnt Mountain Rd 3.6 mi
  • Continue straight onto GA-136 E 14.1 mi
  • Turn left at GA-183/Elliot Family Pkwy 1.2 mi
  • Turn right at GA-52 E 1.5 mi
  • Turn left at Top of the Falls Rd
  • Turn Left into Amicalcola Falls State Park

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $41.60 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile.
