Itinerary:

We'll ride 8 to 10 miles on easy to intermediate bike trails.   Participants are welcome to bring hybrids for this ride, and will be able to ride at least the 1st several miles.

We'll start with 4 miles on the easier "River" side of the trail system, partially along Yellow River (see map links below).  The River loop features some nice overlooks, some manmade, some natural.  We'll venture onto some intermediate trails, taking our time, to expose newer riders to the look and feel of the intermediate terrain.

We'll then return to the parking lot, re-group, then continue across the street to the "Creek" side for those wanting to ride the intermediate loop. This side features some long though manageable uphills, fun downhills and a picturesque creek crossing. It is a great place to take a step up in terrain and have a great time doing it!

 Features of the trail:

  • Parking lot includes restrooms, changing station, bike wash and water fountain.
  • Trail features wider and smoother single track than normal, ideal for beginners. It is also a GREAT ride for a fun day for intermediates and above with your AOC friends!
  • Only 13 miles from I-285

In case of rain or wet conditions: Please check your E-mail by 9:00 AM on the morning of the ride in case of postponement due to rain or wet conditions (rain in the previous 24 to 48 hours).  The Rain date will be Sunday, February 27, same time.   You may also call the Gwinnett County trail hotline (770-978-5270).   If  the trail is closed according to the hotline, the event will be postponed.   However, the hotline is not always current, so please check your E-mail.
