Itinerary:
One of my favorite pioneer camping sites, join us as we once again head to Elijah Clark State Park for pioneer camping on Clarks Hill Lake. Located right on the lake, pioneer camping at Elijay Clark is all about relaxation. Enjoy three days of sun, water, food and new/old friends.

Our campsite has a large pavilion with picnic tables, running water and a comfort station just a short walk away. Bring your water wings and swim floats cause we are right on the lake so there will be lots of swimming and sunning...and yes, moonlight swimming too.  The Perseid Meteor Shower will be at its peak on Friday night, so you can watch from the center of the lake or bring your telescope for more intense stargazing.

It's a bit of a drive out to Elijah Clark but its truly worth. Leave ATL early if you can and get up to the lake early. We will arrive Friday, set up camp, cook a good dinner and relax around the fire with conversation, stories and games. Saturday morning, after a nice breakfast, we will hit the lake for a day on the water to relax and catch rays. The afternoon is yours to do as you wish...swim, sleep, read, play horseshoes or whatever. Later, we will cook up a gourmet dinner and again relax around the fire. Sunday, its a light breakfast and pack for home.

Located on the western shore of 70,000-acre Clarks Hill Lake (the largest man-made lake east of the Mississippi River), this park is named for a frontiersman and Georgia war hero who led pioneers during the Revolutionary War. A renovated and furnished log cabin museum displays furniture, utensils and tools circa 1780.

The park also has fishing, swimming, a beach, miniature golf and three and ½ miles of hiking.

Come on out and join us!!
