Itinerary:
Looking to get some outdoor time in this weekend after the rains? The forecast shows it clearing off by Sunday morning, so lets do a afternoon hike.

The West Palisades Unit of the Chattahooche National Recreation Area is inside the Perimeter in Vinings, on Cobb Parkway. The West Palisades Trail follows the banks of the Chattahoochee, going under I-75 and crossing Rottenwood Creek. It then rises up into the bluffs and comes back down to the river and ends at Devils Race Course Shoals. The trail is mostly easy with some moderate uphill sections and some light scrambling on rocks in one part.

We'll be meeting in the Paces Mill Parking Area at 1:00 PM. We will go to Devils Race Course Shoals and back, about five miles, which should take about two hours.

Please remember to bring $3 for the National Park Service parking fee, unless you have a Chattahoochee NRA annual pass.

If you bring your dog make sure it gets along well other dogs and people. Park regulations require that dogs be on a six foot leash and that owners clean up any waste their dogs produce. A maximum of three dogs will be permitted on this hike.
