Itinerary:

Let's check out some Spring wildflowers!

This will be a 4-mile hike through a variety of beautiful wildflower habitats. We will be leaving from the Interpretive Center near the nature trails parking lot. Parking costs $5.

Park rangers say the wildflowers can best be seen from the white trail, which is a 3-mile hike.
We'll loop back to the parking lot via the scenic red trail (along the water) which is about one mile.

This is a moderate hike. We will stop to take pictures when appropriate. (Bring your camera!)

Pack some food, too, so we can stop for a break & enjoy a snack.

Required Items to Bring:
  • Supportive hiking shoes or boots for the often rocky terrain
  • clothes appropriate for the temps and weather
  • water - one liter or quart or more depending on expected temps that day plus other hydrating fluids as gatorade, etc
  • Camera!!
  • Fun attitude :)
  • Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

    How to Get There:
Event Directions:From I-20, exit #44 at Thornton Road, turn south and go 1/4 miles. Turn
right on Blairs Bridge Road (Near Toyota Dealership). After 2 miles, turn left on Mount Vernon Road.
Once you pass the park entrance (you'll pass by some lakes)... Continue straight for a short distance then turn left on Factory Shoals Rd. (You'll pay a fee at the gate after you make this turn). Past the gate, follow signs and continue straight until you dead-end into a parking lot where the trails start & where the Interpretive center is located.
