Itinerary:
Let's have some fun! Join Sweetwater State Park for a ranger-led peaceful outing on the lake at sunset. This trip is only for adults who can swim and have some experience canoeing. $15 (includes canoe, paddle and PFD) $5 parking.

Although this is an AOC event, all fees will be paid to Sweetwater state park only. No money will be collected by anyone in the AOC. Please be sure to call 770-732-5871 (Sweetwater State Park) to reserve and pay for your space before signing up for this event.

This is a private event for AOC members! The event will actually start at 7:30, but I (Ryan G.) recomend we arrive at 7 in the event parking issues arise, for introductions, and to partner up. 

In the event of bad weather, this event will be rescheduled. Sweetwater State Park will not provide a refund so please understand this before commmitting the money.



Required Items to Bring:
  • Waterproof Flashlight
  • Towel 
  • Water
  • Appropriate Clothing and Shoe

Event Directions (From Downtown Atlanta):

Take I-20 west from Atlanta
Take exit #44 at Thornton Road
Turn left and go 1/4 mile to Blairs Bridge Road
Turn right on Blairs Bridge Road proceed 2 miles
Turn left on Mount Vernon Road and proceed to the park

There are 2 entrances:
1 is only a small parking lot before you get to the dam (pass this one)
cross over the dam and look for the entrance on your left

You must contact Sweetwater State Park before signing up for this event to reserve a spot.

Member Cost:$15.00/Person
Cost Includes:$15 (includes canoe, paddle and PFD) $5 parking. All paid directly to Sweetwater State Park.
