Itinerary:
The Upper Hooch is a classic beginner canoeing and kayaking stream. Its relatively short, has an easy shuttle, nice scenery and fun rapids. It can be run at just about all levels from ridiculously scrapy to screaming high flood stage, depending on the boaters skills of course. At low flows its a class two stream. Around 1500 to 2500 cfs its easy class 3.

Required Items to Bring:
Water shoes or sneakers that can get wet - NO FLIP FLOPS
Appropriate clothing for the weather and that you don't mind getting wet and dirty
Water/snacks/lunch
Change of clothes and shoes for the ride home
Sack for wet clothes and shoes

Leaving Discover Mills park & ride. get on I-85 heading north to the I-985-I-85 intersection. Take the I-985 route, which turns into GA 385 for roughly 46 miles total for the 3 highways. Turn left onto GA 384 for 5 miles more til you cross the bridge that is the river & turn right then another right down into the oufitter/parking area.

Cost Includes:There is a $7 per driver shuttle fee + boat rental fee if needed, from $28-$40 depending on what kind of boat you'd like to rent.
They have sit-on-top kayaks, decked kayaks, regular canoes, single or tandem.
